   Writers: Neal L. Asher (1961 - , England)
  About the author

Neal L. Asher was born in 1961 in Essex, Great Britain (where he still lives with his wife Caroline), had an uneventful childhood and an inadequate schooling. His love of the strange began on hearing The Hobbit, and then reading Lord of the Rings. Thereafter he became so greedy for Sf & F that at one time his reading averaged ten books a month. It also helped that his parents were SF afficionados. Through years of grind he's crawled my way up the writing ladder, through the small presses, and has had numerous short stories, collections, and novellas published. Now Pan Macmillan have published Gridlinked, The Skinner & The Line of Polity, soon will publish Cowl, and are spreading his books worldwide. The first two books are now available in America, Germany and soon in France. Over twenty years have passed since he first started banging away on a manual typewriter (pc now), but then nothing worthwhile comes easy.
