Writers: Margaret Wander Bonanno (1950 - , United States)

  About the author

Margaret Wander Bonanno has written, though not necessarily sold, more than twenty novels in both mainstream and science fiction, including two Star Trek novels, Dwellers in the Crucible and Strangers from the Sky, as well as two s/f trilogies, The Others and Preternatural.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she has supported herself between books as an English teacher, executive secretary, transcriptionist, proofreader and ghostwriter (among her clients is Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek's Uhura, with whom she wrote Saturn's Child).

Her mind is a compost heap of useless information. She dreams of an ideal world in which writers get paid as much for writing as do, say, doctors, lawyers and insurance salesmen. She has two adult children, and lives on the West Coast.

Biography provided by the author, May 2002.
