Lee Hoffman was born in Chicago, IL, in 1932. Her first encounters with science-fiction were the comic strips John Carter of Mars, Ally Oop, Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. From Chicago, her family relocated to Lake Worth, FL, then to Savannah GA. In her late teens, she became active in SF fandom. In 1957 she moved to New York City where she briefly read slush for Infinity and Science Fiction Adventures magazines.
After she had written several Western novels, her agent suggested she get started in science-fiction with a short science-fiction novel for the new Belmont double-novel series. She did three more science-fiction/fantasy novels and several short stories, as well as more Westerns and a few Historical Romances. She is now retired and living on west coast Florida.
