Kerry Orchard was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where she still lives with her husband, two
children, two cats and a dog. She had an interesting life growing up and working at the racetrack. She has also done much volunteering for animal causes and in schools over the years as well as worked at different part time jobs, giving her many ideas for her characters and worlds.

Kerry began writing to beat the isolation of staying home and to cope with a chronic illness. Fantasy is her first love. Poetry affords her an opportunity to express herself. Fantasy is wonderful because the author controls everything from the laws of the world to the character's behaviour. It is escapism at its best.
